Bio
Natalia Poniatowska is a highly acclaimed visual artist specializing in fine art photography. A graduate of The Glasgow School of Art—widely regarded as one of Europe’s leading institutions for creative disciplines (ranked 3rd in the UK and 13th globally)—Natalia has received widespread recognition for her innovative and evocative work, which has been exhibited across the globe.
Her exhibitions span prestigious venues such as the Royal Scottish Academy’s New Contemporaries 2019 in Edinburgh, The National Museum in Cracow, the 12 Star Gallery in London, ARCHIP in Prague, House for an Art Lover in Glasgow, Orms in Cape Town, 5&33 Gallery in Amsterdam, the Pingyao International Photography Festival in China, The Waterhouse Gallery in Maastricht, Lillie Art Gallery in Milngavie, citizenM in Glasgow, and Veronese Paris, among many others.
Natalia’s talent has been recognized with numerous awards, including the 30 Under 30 Female Photographers Award (2024), the Female in Focus Award (2020), the Adam Bruce Thomson Award (2019), and the British Journal of Photography Breakthrough Award (2017). She has also been named one of the “15 Best Graduates in Creative Fields” by It’s Nice That (2018) and has received honors from Debuts (2018), Grand Press Photo (2018), and Wena (2012).
Born and raised in Bytom, an industrial city in Poland’s Silesian region, Natalia’s creative vision is deeply influenced by her upbringing amidst the stark contrasts of industrial landscapes and human stories.
After seven transformative years in Scotland, she relocated to Warsaw in 2019, where she continues to evolve her artistic and commercial practice.
